Under the direction of the Business Manager, the Onboarding/Compliance Coordinator will provide a high level of payroll and HR support to the Weitzman School of Design. The coordinator will process all transactional activities in Workday (HCM System) for faculty, staff, and students, including, but not limited to, onboarding, assigning/updating supervisory orgs; entering and updating job requisitions, compensation/compensation plan changes, transfers, and separations, and adding/deleting jobs. Create and distribute commitment letters; prepare and communicate to new hires onboarding activities including faculty relocation. Act as the School’s point of contact for transactions involving recruitment, staff relations, worker’s compensation, unemployment claims, and family medical leave/short-term disability issues. Assist with the annual salary merit process for eligible faculty and staff by inputting new salaries into Workday. Coordinate the annual performance appraisal process and employee recognition program. Attend HR Council and Workday meetings on behalf of the School, and update senior leadership on meeting content and action items/deliverables. Run reports in Business Objects and Workday and review data; research issues/errors and take necessary corrective actions as requested by Manager or Director of Finance. Recommend and implement best practices for onboarding of employees, maintain the School’s web page, monitor and ensure School’s compliance with all University payroll/HR policies and procedures; and maintain digital files. A High School diploma or GED and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required; Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of Workday, Business Objects, and University payroll/HR policies and procedures strongly desired; strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines is preferred; sound professional judgment and the ability to exercise discretion in working with confidential and/or sensitive matters is required
