What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Agent/Lead position at Trutalent Inc?

From tilling to table, the retailers, distributors, and food service providers we work with know they will be providing their customers with vibrant, flavorful greens that have been carefully tended to every step of the way.
What you will do may include:
- Evaluating suppliers by considering price, quality, availability, and other criteria
- Interviewing vendors and visiting suppliers' facilities to learn about products, services, and pricing
- Negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best deals on behalf of the company
- Verifying purchases by comparing them to a master list and recommending alternatives for expensive or irrelevant products
- Interacting with suppliers to schedule delivery times and resolve shipping errors
- Authorizing payments and maintaining receipts, records, and inventories
- Attend industry trade shows to learn about and stay current on trends and to meet suppliers
- Confirm quality of deliveries and work with facility managers with samples of new products and materials.
- Must be comfortable with travel within a 30-mile radius (as needed) and occasional weekly day trips to other locations (seasonal).
What you will have:
- Prior experience with purchasing with a preference for agriculture, produce, or farming industries.
- Background of vendor review to ensure the companies are receiving the best value from their vendors by potentially combining orders for multiple locations.
- Review and research current and new vendor offerings to identify other potential purchasing avenues.
- Experience with formalizing processes used in procurement for multiple locations.
- Will be responsible for keeping and filing records of these purchase orders, contracts, etc.
