What are the responsibilities and job description for the Helpdesk Administrator position at TSG Technologies LLC?

TSG Technologies is looking for happy, professional, and motivated people to join our team! We provide IT services for small & medium sized businesses in Connecticut. We implement small projects, handle software and hardware migrations, updates & upgrades, integrations, IT management, policy development and oversight of IT environments. We support and encourage continued education through company paid certifications and continued education courses.




Responsibilities for Help Desk Administrator



  • Onboarding and Offboarding on-prem and cloud based M365 Accounts, SharePoint sites, and Intune policies
  • Setting up workstations for new employees and providing IT introductory training
  • Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware/MDR policy management
  • Configure, test, monitor and verify system backups for data restores
  • Line-Of-Business software installation, upgrades, and management for clients
  • On-prem and remote server maintenance and updates, including patch management, performance monitoring, and hardware maintenance
  • Troubleshooting current Microsoft/Mac operating systems, server and workstation issues
  • Providing 2nd level support for organization’s network including LAN, WAN, and WLAN support
  • Lead other techs on project deliverables
  • Providing support after normal working hours when necessary
  • Create and follow client specific documented processes when needed
  • Work may be remote or onsite at clients location so slight travel is required
  • Obtain and maintain required application and Microsoft certifications
  • Other duties as assigned


Preferred Qualifications/Experience



  • 2-4 years: Working with Windows Server in an Active Directory environment, M365, Intune, SharePoint, and OneDrive preferred
  • Experience working with AV/AM/MDR tools (ESET, Huntress, Sentinel One, etc.) and PSA/RMM tools (Datto PSA/RMM) preferred
  • 2-4 years: Troubleshooting Windows/Mac desktop issues
  • 1-3 years: Experience working with different network topologies, manufacturers, and equipment (Unifi, Fortinet, Cisco, Meraki etc.)
  • Must have reliable transportation, be polite, respectful and have open communication with all staff and clients

Educational Experience


  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in IT preferred but not required
  • Microsoft Certifications, CompTIA Network , CompTIA A , Google Certifications are a plus
