What are the responsibilities and job description for the EHS Administrator position at TST INC?
SUMMARY
Works with the EHS Department to help maintain all Environmental Permits in compliance and improve safety culture through safety program coordination, including training, incident investigation, SDS management, plant inspections and data-entry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with plant inspections and tracks corrective action plans (Hazard Abatement) from all departments.
- Organizes, schedules, coordinates, documents, and handles testing and manages recordkeeping.
- Prepare agendas takes minutes for the Management Communication Meeting (MCM), Monthly Manager Safety Meeting and Safety Committee Meeting.
- Will commit to weekly PPE inventory control and coordinates the purchase, proper use, maintenance, inspection, testing, and disposal of PPE.
- Manages TST-Inc’s SDS Chemical Inventory and does annual audits.
- Create and maintain labels, tables, graphs and reports and assists with preparation of meetings.
- Manages all forms related to DOT and CHP Commercial Driver Records.
- Administers the safety suggestion forms and manages the safety incentive programs.
- Works with the team to ensure timely submittal of incident investigations for tracking in incident database and issue out Safety Alerts in a timely manner.
- Answer phone calls, messages, mails and or sends and reads e-mails when requested.
- Assists with New Hire Safety Training.
- Assists EHS Manager and Specialist to ensure compliance with Contractor Safety Program, SMRT Program and all required training.
- Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
- Assists with coordinating hazardous waste disposal and maintains all manifest records which may also include the submittal process to DTSC.
- Performs periodic spot inspections of hazardous waste storage areas.
- Maintains, tracks and input all data entry all Inspection, Investigation, and Industrial Motor Vehicle Inspections as data entry.
- Schedule appointments for DOT and Annual Hearing Testing.
- Manages all record keeping, by filing manually/electronically and/or in binders.
- Works with EH&S Manager to ensure compliance in the plant with operating conditions on Air Permit.
- Assists with Storm Water Program, which may also include field sampling.
- Periodic checks on AQMD reporting alarms, temperatures to ensure compliance with the following reports, MACT, QCER and AQMD Monthly Electronic Submittal.
- Assist with efforts to improving EHS performance by eliminating injuries, exposures, spills and emissions.
- Bachelor Degree is desirable and/or 1 year of related experience in the environmental health and safety field
- Some knowledge of OSHA, AQMD, EPA concepts
- Experience leading small groups
