Job DescriptionThe purpose of this position is to train students to have the knowledge to pass the commercial vehicle and driving exams to obtain a career in the transportation industry.Essential Functions
Employee will demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students and members of the community.
Demonstrate skill and/or knowledge in teaching discipline.
Make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods.
Evaluate students to measure their progress toward achievement of stated course objectives and inform them of their progress in the course in a timely manner.
Complete documentation including grades, reports, maintenance logs, etc., as required by the supervisor.
Respond in a timely manner to all student, staff, and general public inquiries received via email, text and phone systems.
Possess a thorough understanding of college policies, procedures, requirements, and effectively communicate them to applicants and students, as well as the required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities of the Federal and State rules and regulations as it pertains to commercial drivers.
Actively participate in discipline committee or program meetings and activities

Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills
TSTC CDL Instructors must demonstrate skill and/or knowledge in teaching discipline, with a minimum of three years of professional driving experience.
Must hold a CDL Class A Instructor License from a state approving agency as applicable
Demonstrate skill and/or knowledge in teaching discipline, with a minimum of three years of professional driving experience.
Must provide an updated Driving Record upon request.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time in both indoor and outdoor settings where weather conditions vary.
Must be willing to travel to teach, instruct, or perform examinations as needed.
Must have a fundamental knowledge of computer systems and the operation of word processors, e-mails and spreadsheets. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, edit and formatted documents on Microsoft Word. Organize tasks using entire Google Workspace applications (Chat, Calendar, Meets etc.)
