Computer Component & Systems Tester

Job Description:

Do you have an interest and working general knowledge of computer/server hardware?

Mighty Bytes Computer Parts, LLC. has a great opportunity in Garner, N.C. We are looking for candidates to sort, clean, test, diagnose, repair, and rebuild used computer parts/systems. You will become very familiar with computer hardware and learn how to do bench tests.

($15.00 / hour Full-time*)

Responsibilities:

-Sorting and Testing used computer hardware and components

-Performing bench tests and recording the results of your tests on a spreadsheet

-Build, repair, and troubleshoot used computer systems and peripherals for resale.

-Enter and update data into computer inventory system.

-Follow checklists and procedures.

-Prepare timely and reliable inventory reports.

-Maintain daily logs of work performed.

-Must be available to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends (as the schedule dictates).

-Attend all required staff meetings.

-Comply with policies, procedures, and safety standards throughout all work areas.

-Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.

-Must be at least 18 years of age.

Education:  High School or equivalent (required)

Qualifications/Experience:   

-Basic knowledge and skills in PC/Server Repair, Troubleshooting, and Inventory Control.

-One year of previous experience trouble-shooting computers/servers in an IT setting is preferred.

-Hardware certifications (for example: A , Server ) are not required, but will be considered preferrable.

-Comfortable working in a warehouse environment

-Able to follow written and/or verbal instructions

-Effectively interacting with fellow employees.

-Must be able to work within a team environment as well as self-start.

-Must have excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.

-Must be able to formulate and implement strategies to solve problems.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, and controls. The employee will also be required to reach with hands and arms while maintaining effective communication. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and work in a variety of postures. This position is a warehouse job and does require handling of recycled parts which are dirty. Steel toe boots will be needed.

Working hours: 8am – 5pm Monday- Friday and occasional weekends as needed.
