Role Overview and Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

TT Electronics is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer. The Test Engineer is responsible for establishing production test procedures, coordinating testing of products under development, and sustaining manufacturing hardware/software. Problem solving daily production issues with team as needed.  The position reports directly to the Process Engineering Manager. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Define, specify, qualify, install, support, and optimize test process and test and vision equipment solutions for manufacturing.
• Lead test process optimization, with a focus on productivity improvements to cycle time and yield for a specific set of equipment within an Operations value stream.
• Debug of test process and equipment solutions using design of experiments, tools, and failure analysis methodologies.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to detect and solve product and test yields and performance issues.
• Develop improvement roadmaps for test coverage, diagnosability, reparability, test time reductions and OEE.
• Analyze and interpret data and information from yield reports and equipment logs and product diagnostics to determine sources of yield loss.
• Provide solution support to process engineers to improve detection of known defect types as part of a Process Control plan.
• Support development of test equipment integration into Manufacturing Execution Systems including yield, tester log and product parametric information.

• Coordinates and performs tests at the quality control stage of the development process.
• Develop Production Test Equipment that Automates Existing Manual Methods.
• Sets up test equipment required for testing.
• Creates acceptance and functional test procedures.
• Works with production test team to train them on test set up and procedures.
• Gathers and studies information regarding materials and components to be used in development.
• Drafts proposals for testing programs and operating procedures; outlines the specific testing conditions to be applied.
• Tests new products develops systems to gather digital data during testing.
• Studies the data gathered during testing and evaluates the validity of the results.
• Identifies any problems with new products; adjusts or recommendations to resolve problems.
• Continues testing and analysis until results are within product requirements and specifications.
• Drafts detailed technical reports to present findings; based on findings, recommends modifications needed to correct production problems.
• Develops ongoing quality control testing procedures to be incorporated into the regular production process.
• Provide hardware and software support of legacy manufacturing systems.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without accommodation. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to discuss product flaws in a constructive and positive manner.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare test reports and proposals.
• Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast paced, high pressure, deadline driven environment Knowledge of SPC and Statistical Methods such as t-tests, F-test, and DOE.
• Familiar with statistics software: Minitab, Design-Ease or Design-Expert.
• Experienced user of Microsoft Office suite.
• Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

• B.S. Degree in Technical Field such as computer science, software/hardware or Electrical engineering preferred.
• 5-10 years electronics manufacturing experience required.
