Under general supervision, performs duties which support the staff's ability to provide patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Restocks and delivers supplies in treatment rooms, utility rooms and kitchen.
- Transports equipment from Patient Care Department to patient care units.
- Helps the Nursing office with special projects, including delivering and sorting the mail.
- Helps the Staffing office with special projects, including delivering specialty supplies to floor/unit or nursing supply room.
- Nursing Service Assistants do not participate in providing direct clinical care to patients.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Ability to interpret and act on data needed, providing follow through on instructions.
- Familiarity with a wide variety of medical equipment/supplies and their intended uses.
- Strong Interpersonal skills for interaction with patients, families and staff.
