Lowell General Hospital’s Cardiology Department is looking for a proactive Cardiology Technician to join their dynamic team! This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a Magnet recognized, community hospital, where our mission is to put patients first in everything we do.

Hours:  Part-Time / Days /  24 hours a week / 7am-3pm / eow

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains current knowledge in the areas of performance of EKG, Holter Monitor, Event Monitor, PVR and ETTtesting, as well as patient education.
  • Demonstrates a proficiency in EKG, Holter Monitor, event Monitor, and stress testing by applying proper lead placement techniques.
  • Consistently and completely documents patient information and demographics. 
  • Demonstrate accuracy and completeness in preparing procedures for interpretation.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the operation of EKG management system in accordance with department policy and procedure
  • Responds to Stat priorities and Code 99 events in a timely manner consistent with policy.
  • Demonstrates a proficiency in PVR technique and specific adjustment of systems settings.
  • Demonstrates use and understanding of safe and proper transport and patient assistance techniques.
  • Maintains equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows infection control practice.
  • Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining and trouble-shooting equipment including Stress and EKG Management systems.  Provides peer support for staff including new hires in all work processes and equipment.   

Qualifications:

  • Skills requirement; Patient care, EKG experience, communication, multitasking, and prioritization
  • Certification requirement; BCLS
  • Experience preferred; Holter monitors, event monitors, and assisting with cardiac stress testing
  • Education preferred; Certification in EKG training, nursing student, nursing assistant, medical assistant, and/or medical technologist
  • Some weekends and holidays required
