What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boat Operator position at Tulalip Tribes?
Responsible for the operation of tribal Fish and Wildlife enforcement vessels, vehicles and small power equipment. Must be able to perform basic maintenance on vessels and equipment. Respond and assist to calls for service related to Search and Rescue (SAR).
Compensation: $28.79 hr.
Minimum Required Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum Related Experience
- One (1) year experience working with electrical equipment, such as radar, depth sounders, plotters, and radios.
- One (1) year experience operating diesel vessels up to 45 feet, gas vessels up to 35 feet in length and small outboard vessels to include in severe weather conditions, day or night is preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications/Prerequisites
WA State Driver’s License and must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulation (Personal Automobile Insurance & Abstract Required).
CPR and First Aid certification. Employer will allow 6 months to obtain from hire date. Must maintain as a condition of continued employment
Must live within 15 miles of Tulalip Reservation. If applicant does not meet this requirement, employer will allow no more than three (3) months from hire date to be in compliance.
Must complete and pass an Agility exam to determine if physically capable of performing job duties.
Must successfully pass a polygraph exam administered by a polygraph examiner designated by TPD.
Employment is contingent upon successful passing of the Tulalip Police background checks.
