Essential Qualities

The Procurement Specialist at Tulsa Educare is responsible for procurement of supplies, and other accounting functions. Tulsa Educare is seeking a Procurement Specialist who will make the commitment to perform with integrity and model these essential qualities:

Essential Functions

Procurement

  • Implements annual bid process to determine approved and preferred vendors, assuring compliance with federal regulations
  • Receives purchase requisitions, complete purchases, and tracks orders
  • Receives packing slips, matches to invoices, and submits payment request by check request or credit card information to accounts payable (timeline)
  • Provides prompt and courteous communicate to vendors, internal customers, team members, and managers to align the department and agency goals
  • Updates internal purchasing drive to reflect items out of stock, change of vendor etc.

Knowledge and Skills

Broad knowledge and experience in:

  • Must adhere to strict confidentiality policies.
  • MS Office skills, organizational skills, efficiency skills, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Good oral and written communication skills with ability to work well under pressure.
  • Developing collaborative partnerships and work in a team environment.
  • Balancing and prioritizing multiple projects and priorities and following through to completion.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university in Business or Accounting with two years minimum experience working in accounting, accounts payable, procurement or related field, or significant experience (5 years or more) working in accounting, accounts payable, procurement or related field may be substituted for degree.
  • Financial Edge Accounting Software experience a plus
  • Experience working in non-profit accounting preferred
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Other

Primarily an office position with some local travel (exposure to normal traffic hazards). Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Regular and reliable attendance required.
