Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Manager of Equipment Operators, the Administrative Assistant will provide general administrative support to the DC Excavation work crew and Engine House.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Manager with maintaining and updating inventories of Tribal equipment and supplies. Order supplies as necessary.
- Screen incoming correspondence and telephone calls for the Department.
- Set up filing system and standard business office workflow.
- Prepare correspondence, emails, copies and forms as directed.
- Prepare daily/weekly work orders and job schedules as directed.
- Enter and maintain department expense records through the Tribe’s expense tracking application.
- Coordinate calendars and appointments for the department as directed.
- Assist Manager working with designated vendors and tribal entities to coordinate work assignments and schedules.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High School and/or GED.
- Two (2) years of college is preferred and/or general office experience.
- Possess good verbal, writing and organizational skills.
- Computer skills sufficient to produce correspondence and other required documents.
- Ability to interact professionally with people with a wide variety of backgrounds.
- Experience with inventory control is desirable.
- Must possess a valid drivers’ license and comply with the requirements of the Tribes driving policy and insurance requirements.

Physical Requirements:
This position is deemed a level 2 and requires walking; standing; sitting for prolonged periods of time; climbing stairs; stooping; kneeling; crouching; reaching; pushing, pulling and lifting to 30 pounds; raising objects overhead; manual dexterity for operation of computer, phones and small office machines; hearing; talking; good verbal and written communication skills; repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
Indian Preference:
Preference in filling vacancies shall be given first to qualified Tuolumne Me-Wuk Community Council Members and then to enrolled Native Americans of any federally recognized tribe.
