Buyer

Turner Industries Group is hiring a Field Buyer for a project in Bay City, TX area. The Buyer will be responsible for the end to end procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies per client specification, while adhering to corporate policies and procedures. Prepare and evaluate bid tabulations and quotes, in conjunction with the client, to determine the most desirable suppliers. Keep accurate record of all purchasing activities.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field
• 4-7 years of purchasing experience in the Oil Refining / Petrochemical / Downstream Industry
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Strong attention to detail
• The ability to manage high workload involving multiple priorities
• Experience with material, service and project procurement
• Experience with cost analysis, cost savings, strategic contracts management and supplier negotiations a must
• Experience in a plant environment (preferred), background and/or knowledge in MRO, pumps, rotational equipment, turnarounds, maintenance, and operations is an advantage

Functional Requirements:

• Process purchase orders to support daily maintenance, operations and repairs activities such as framework, lab, stock and non-stock items and turn around.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure requisitions and purchase orders adhere to OQ Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
• Process orders in a timely manner and work with suppliers to ensure best cost, terms, delivery and compliance.
• Expedite open orders and provide a weekly status update to stakeholders and Procurement Manager.
• Maintain excellent and regular communication with stakeholders and suppliers.
• Provide the evaluation of supplier RFQ's utilizing appropriate negotiation and procurement analysis techniques.
• Manage purchase order disputes to ensure fair and timely resolution with suppliers. This includes escalation of disputes where needed with the support from Procurement Manager and Legal.
• Ensure that all purchase orders are in compliance with company HSE policies & procedures.
• Responsible for new vendor set up and working with requestor and vendor master to ensure compliance.
• Provide an update on AP Block Report and collaborate with requestors to update purchase orders as needed for payment.
• Works closely with Maintenance, Operations, Safety, Environmental, Finance, Legal, Compliance and Contracts Specialist to reduce costs, improve lead time, innovation & efficiencies.

Salary : $56,500 - $71,500
