Turner & Townsend is looking for a Consultant Contract Services to join the Netherlands team.
Turner and Townsend Contract Services Team deliver Contract Development, Contract Management and Dispute Resolution Services across the region. With strong experience in a consultancy or contractor organisation, you will have knowledge and demonstrate hands on experience of standard forms of contract, claims management, dispute avoidance and/or dispute resolution within the infrastructure and built environment sectors. With a ‘can do’ attitude and commercially astute you will be driven, results oriented with the ability to provide best in class claims and dispute management advice for our clients.
Individuals will have a cost and commercial management, engineering and/or legal background and have the ability to support our Subject Matter Experts in the region and aid the growth of our high performing Contract Services division.

Job Description
- A unique role with a focus on bringing companies and teams together so as to ensure project progress whilst checking contract compliance and finding solutions for deviations
- Sound communication and analytical skills are required, as well as affinity with either legal or engineering and the motivation to ‘go the extra mile’ in understanding and supporting our clients and their project stakeholders
- A key position in our Project Management Services team in Amsterdam, which comprises people from various (cultural) backgrounds, nationalities and experience levels
- You will be working on complex, multi-disciplinary Transportation Infrastructure Projects that matter to society and which should play a role in the transformation to a more sustainable economy
- Your involvement will primarily be with projects in the Benelux region whilst we encourage your interest in any global project opportunities
- We expect you to be flexible but are happy to offer reciprocity: our positions can be part-time as well, say 32-40 hours per week, with home working being a standard option
- Training and education are very important: you will receive support from peers during this project assessment and will be offered training so as to enhance future career growth (either as expert or in line/project management)

Qualifications
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in a variety of construction sectors and project type
- Strong contract administration experience
- Strong commercial management experience on major projects
- Experience of NEC and/or FIDIC and other standard form contracts and the relevant processes and procedures
- Experience of compiling claim reports
- Experience of arbitration and/or litigation processes
- Confident in a client facing environment, with good presentational skills
- Experience of performance forensics, whether from a quantum or delay background
- Application of methodical analytical skills, with a flexible and adaptable approach to service delivery under a number of challenging scenarios
- Experience of providing consultancy services on live contracts and projects in distress an advantage
- Able to prepare and support on major bid proposals
Qualifications
- Fluent Dutch and English language skills
- Quantity surveying, civil engineering or construction management degree
- Demonstrable track record of providing contract and claims services in the property sector.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
