Job Overview
We are looking for a Senior EDS Vehicle Architecture Engineer to develop and maintain wiring diagrams and 2D schematics for all the Electrical Distribution systems (Wire harnesses) at TuSimple You will work with the cross-development and design engineers throughout the engineering organization to ensure the relevant subsystems are designed with appropriate requirements, interfaces, and interactions to achieve specific wire harness vehicle functions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain wiring diagrams Logical & Physical Schematics
- Work with hardware engineering teams and suppliers to obtain harness relevant data
- Select fuses and wire sizes
- Work with mechanical engineering teams on harness drawings, and finalizing connector selection
- Utilize and maintain component libraries
- Merge harness schematics with 3D designs into a consistent data set that we submit to harness manufacturers
- Maintain and configure harness variants for vehicles and a variety of different test bench designs
- Work with tool suppliers on integrations to streamline the processes and to improve harness data quality
- Work with technicians to build harnesses for test and kitting benches
- Report and escalate issues as appropriate and participate in triaging of issues with different teams and harness suppliers
Experience and Skills required :
- 5- 10 years of experience in system engineering or Electrical Engineering, with direct working experience within the Electrical Distribution Systems- Wire Harnesses.
- Proven long term experience in harness schematic design and vehicle harness development
- Proven senior-level experience with harness schematic tools such asCapital, VeSys, or others
- Detailed knowledge of relevant formats such as kbl, XML, and others
- Experience in selecting wiring sizes and types as well as connectors
- Harness Debugging experience
- Harness manufacturing experience
- Experience Capital Harness XC integrator and Logic
- Familiarity with CAN messaging systems
- Experience with model-based behaviors
- Experience with automotive body computers
- Ability to interface with connector, PDC, vehicle architecture, and systems engineers to manage all electrical aspects of wiring design
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to identify and communicate risks, mitigate, and drive issues to closure
- Attention to detail, ability to prioritize
