Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
- The duties include, but are not limited to, determining those individuals exposed to COVID-19, conducting in person and remote assessments of symptoms, and ensuring that those placed under quarantine or isolation comply with Tuskegee University policies, procedures, protocols and regulations.
- To ensure success, contact tracers should possess excellent organizational and technical skills, and the ability to work in an environment where strict adherence to policies and procedures is required.
- The successful candidate shall adhere to all Federal, State and Local Public Health laws, including HIPAA laws, conform to any and all Federal, State, Local and Tuskegee University confidentiality policies and procedures and exhibit sound judgment and exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Coordinate contact tracing efforts with Student Health Services.
- Call newly diagnosed patients to trace individuals they had contact with and determining exposure.
- Conduct tracing interviews in a professional manner that reflects emotional/cultural awareness.
- Interview identified traced contacts, assessing symptoms, and referring them for testing.
- Provide contacts with regulated information on isolation and quarantine procedures.
- Collect and recording accurate information.
- Collaborate with Student Health Services to ensure notification of designated local authorities in supporting the isolation and quarantine of individuals.
- Maintain ongoing communication with quarantine and/or isolation clients to monitor symptoms.
- Schedule and manage health checks and test, as well as referring contacts to available resources.
Qualifications
- Certificate of completion in Contact Tracing from an accredited agency.
- High School Diploma and/or College-level courses or education preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook Express, data entry and other software.
- Advanced proficiency in English, additional languages would be advantageous.
- Access to a telephone, computer, and reliable internet connection.
- Ability to comply with regulations and communicate official information in an appropriate manner.
- Advanced ability to coordinate efforts, facilitate intervention, and maintain records.
- Exceptional organizational skills and sound judgment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to assist distressed individuals from different cultural backgrounds.
