What are the responsibilities and job description for the LVN position at TVC?

Looking for a LVN to work along side our exciting Team and care for our patients.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Definition: Under direct supervision, the LVN works interdependently with other health care professionals to provide quality health care to the patient. The LVN is educated and trained to perform both administrative and clinical skills in the medical care environment. LVN must be flexible and able to cover all non managerial aspects of the clinic but able to spot problems and recommend solutions management.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clinical

Main Activities:

  • Ability to room patients following each individual provider policy
  • Ability to perform triage following the triage protocol
  • Ability to complete referrals, scanning, records request, patient correspondence and medication refills
  • Ability to resolve patient related issues that arise
  • Answer and return calls in a timely manner
  • Maintain clinical inventory

  • Protime Clinic

Main Activities:

  • Perform basic lab tests using venipuncture and fingerstick method
  • Process blood results using the I Stat, Cholestech and Hemosense machines
  • Accurately enter patient information in Intergy
  • Responsible for maintaining daily QA, Logs, Calibration and maintenance of the lab analyzers.

  • Telemetry

Main Activities:

  • Ability to understand and interpret EKG Rhythm strips to successfully complete Stress Echos, Treadmills and Holter Monitor interpretations
  • Scheduling

Main Activities:

  • Ability to schedule, reschedule, cancel, no shows, block templates and scrub provider schedules for errors
  • Ability to provide detailed instructions for scheduled test
  • Home Monitoring-Pacer

Main Activities:

  • Ability to schedule patients, pull reports, monitoring the alerts and the overdue patients following clinical protocol.

  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge

Must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

  • Medical Terminology
  • Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures for all sites, providers and rooms
  • Knowledge of computer systems, spreadsheets and application
  • Knowledge of operating the standard clinical equipment
  • Knowledge of HIPPA policies
  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety policies

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must be a graduate of a vocational or technical college in vocational nursing and hold a current license.

CPR certification and ACLS must be acquired within 6 months of appointment. Venipuncture and IV Certified

Equivalencies will be considered.


ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Office settings and traveling to off-site locations


PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: The LVN will spend long hours sitting, walking, standing and using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle strain. The LVN will also have to do some varied activities including stooping, bending, reaching, lifting, kneeling and crouching. Requires eye-hand coordination, finger dexterity, talking, hearing and specific vision abilities including depth perception, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds.
