Job Brief
Twelve is seeking a Process Controls Engineer to join our Software Engineering Team. You will build automated systems for CO2 conversion, and assist with development and prototyping of new test equipment and methods.
This is a full time role based in Berkeley, CA with the option to work from home 2 days / week.
What you’ll do
Design and build systems and instrumentation for CO2 conversion processes
Develop ladder logic and HMI controls for PLC systems
Interface via industry standard protocols with a variety of sensors, motors, pumps, relays, remote IOs, and other devices
Help automate operation, data acquisition, storage, and analysis
Review and interpret electrical wiring diagrams
Assist in design and safety reviews
Who you are
Experience designing, selecting, programming, and deploying PLC-based control systems and HMIs for process equipment
Strong familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs or similar
Ability to create and interpret engineering diagrams include P&IDs, and electrical and wiring diagrams
Experience with HAZOP, Process Control Narratives, Interlock Tables, SFCs, and preferably standards like ISA-88
Understanding of the technical capabilities, safety features, and limitations of different types of control hardware
Experience designing controls logic with safety as a top priority
