Project Supervisor - Fiber Optics
This role is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in the leadership and supervision of a project. This role reports directly to the Project Manager serves as a proxy for the Project Manager when needed.
Key Results Area #1 – Oversee Construction
- Manage scheduled workers on site.
- Report tracking on deliverables.
- Support and supervise Sub-Contractors.
- Ensure that the agreed schedules and guidelines are followed and enforced.
- Monitor and report on project progress.
- Evaluate and report result of project.
- Assist in field verification.
- Understand Easements, Right of Way and Private Property Guidelines.
- Know and understand Permitting requirements
- Know and Understand 811 Blue Stake Law
Key Results Area #2 – Assist Quality assurance
- Ensure that proper test results and records are captured.
- Ensure TWN standards are adhered to.
- Ensure that all safety requirements are met, at all times.
- Ensure that photos and documentation is compiled by Sub-Contractors and submitted.
- Assist in the acceptance of completed tasks.
- Witness final OTD testing by Sub-Contractors.
- Perform TWN OTDR testing when needed.
Key Results Area #3 – Training
- Train new fiber techs.
- Assist in fiber Trouble shooting.
- Unique Fiber Tool training.
- Fiber Theory training.
Key Result Area #4 - Communication
· Must have good communication and people skills
· Will be required to interact with fiber customers
· Will interact with contractors and sub contractors
· Will interact with Rural Cooperative Fiber Partner
· Will interact with Corporate Office personnel on a daily basis
· Attend and participate in required meetings for fiber project.
· Assist Field Service Team as required.
Work Experience for Project Supervisor - Fiber Optics
· 10 plus years project experience.
· Fiber splicing experience.
· Fiber Certifications.
· Leadership experience.
· Fiber to the Home experience.
· Prior experience with a workflow tool,
· Strong customer service skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Outlook and Excel)
· Knowledge of Outside Plant Construction techniques (aerial & underground)
· Inside Plant Experience preferred
· Familiarity with test equipment and techniques for performing Fiber Splicing, OTDR, Power Meter and As-built Prints. Able to understand Fiber Designs and tie points.
Other:
Ability to travel to job sites with a 4-County area of Huntington, IN.
