Business Unit BAMG - Bloomington Management Level Management Job Category Engineering & Science Position Summary The Industrial Engineering function focuses on optimizing the interconnected components of a manufacturing system (e.g., personnel work flow/ergonomics, materials logistics, production process sequence, and equipment layouts, etc.). This role will also manage experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments. Problems faced are difficult to moderately complex. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and the ability to communicate and influence executive leadership on a frequent basis. If needed, relocation assistance would be available. Responsibilities • Implements policy and strategy for short-term results and influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures • Influences, coaches, and develops direct reports. • Establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel • Manages completion of cost/inventory/production control and human factors studies to develop and implement plans for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods • Assists manufacturing plant/facilities engineers with facility planning and design • May assist in establishing accident prevention measures and manage production operations training programs for plant personnel • Manages team to apply industrial engineering principles to deliver customer technical/functional specifications, budget adherence, automation/continuous improvement of processes, and manufacturing cost/efficiency requirements • Creates and manages institutional knowledge • Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders • Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree; 6 y years of relevant experience including 3-5 years management or direct/indirect leadership experience Or Master's degree; 4 years of relevant experience including 2-4 years management or direct/indirect leadership experience Experience in a manufacturing environment Bridgestone is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
