Responsible for departmental support to the School of Continuing Studies including: student registration, customer inquiries, record keeping, receptionist duties, general oversight of the registration process; assisting with department daily operations in functional areas as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES
- Answer and route incoming calls
- Assist student inquiries by providing departmental course and program information
- Assist with student registration in person and via phone
- Oversee daily processing of student payments and refunds
- Oversee the completion and accuracy of daily deposits as needed
- Provide high level skills for performance of data entry, typing, filing, record-keeping and written correspondence as needed.
Primary Departmental Duties
- Assist Operations Manager with course cancellations and student outreach
- Serve as third-party registration contact and oversee third-party registration process
- Oversee student registration paperwork, including receipts and schedules
- Facilitate communication with department employees as needed
- Assist Operations Manager with operational software system as it pertains to course and student data
General Institutional Duties
- Communicate information to faculty, staff and the general public
- Maintain a high level of professionalism while serving as liaison between the office and other College personnel.
- Adapt to policies and procedures affecting the function of the organizational unit
- Prepare and compile reports, forms and other documents as required
- Serve on department, division, and College committees as needed
- Work to develop close and effective working relationships with various stakeholders within and outside the campus community
- Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education
- High School diploma or GED
- 1-3 years of office experience
Preferred Education
- Associate degree with coursework in a business related field
- 3-5 years of experience as an office assistant or workplace team member
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR WORKING CONDITIONS
- Occasional stress due to deadlines or workload because of intermittent or cyclical work pressures
- Routine shift hours, infrequent overtime, nights or weekends
- Mostly indoors, stationary workspace
- Minimal physical effort required; minimal walking, bending, and/or standing, negligible lifting
- Conditions associated with sitting at a PC performing job duties as stated
