The NIC Division of Tyler Technologies is looking for a Product Analyst to join our NIC Outdoors team.

Individual contributor that is responsible for participating in the development, maintenance and enhancement of business applications. Participate in project teams and collaborate with business partners, and other technical staff to identify user requirements, assess available technologies, and recommend solution options. Act as a liaison between sales, implementation, operations, support, and technology to support product positioning and customer demands as part of the product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the definition, elicitation, prioritization, delivery, and validation of business requirements and product enhancements
  • Gather requirements, conduct gap analysis, and identify opportunities by participating in interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, site visits, business process observation, use cases, scenarios, industry research, reverse engineering existing software, and task/workflow analysis
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager to stage epics and maintain the product backlog priority list for the software development team to pull into sprints
  • Participate in daily standup for the SCRUM team and assist in removing roadblocks as needed
  • Competently conduct functional tests on changes introduced to the product along with documenting and sharing results and metrics for developmental revisions, project record keeping, and software audits
  • Assist in validating proper functionality as changes are promoted to operating environments, such as the test, user acceptance, stage, and production environments
  • Demo new features and facilitate user acceptance tests with customers and users to assure their full understanding of the changes and effective methods to verify acceptable functionality, providing feedback to the development team via Jira tickets
  • Assure issues and risks exposed during testing are clearly understood by management and the business owners
  • Work independently yet collaborate with requestors, Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts and Subject Matter experts
  • Acquire subject matter expertise in assigned product including demonstrating and describing the applications and processes to interested parties
  • Participate in new customer onboarding including training and the maintenance of user guides and other release and product documentation
  • Responsible for identifying, measuring, and monitoring key product/service performance analytics as well as presenting product related user, market, and competitive intelligence
  • Conduct stakeholder analysis, business rules analysis, decision analysis, data analysis and cost benefit analysis
  • Ability to learn/grasp new technical concepts and technology quickly
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail

Minimum Requirements

  • 4 years of Product or Business Analyst experience
  • Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into quality test plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Able to think independently and in a team-oriented environment where test planning/execution can be adapted to the needs of the project, yet not compromise the quality of the product
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
  • Flexible during times of change
  • Able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
  • Customer service skills is an asset
  • Ability to balance customer needs against the company’s vision
  • Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and results-driven
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Experience with web-based applications, preferably cloud hosted SaaS solutions
  • Project Management Experience, Product Management and/or Development experience a plus
