Software Trainer
The Software Trainer is an important member of the implementation team responsible for providing training services to external clients and internal stakeholders. The trainer equips clients with product and technical skills with a blend of hands-on exercises, demonstrations, and lectures, helping propel organizations to manage their Fire Prevention Mobile solution. This role is responsible for preparing, conducting, and evaluating technical training programs. This position requires the ability to build training content based on research and thorough needs analysis following adult education principles.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver remote and onsite training interventions to new and existing clients.
- Develop, update, and maintain training materials, including outline, facilitator guide, participant guide, job aids, training exercises and assessments/tests to ensure product updates are included and that practices reflect those currently used in the field.
- Keep up to date on new software functionality and facilitate sessions on new features.
- Communicate professionally and effectively, while focusing on adult learning methodologies, presentation techniques and course pacing.
- Work with Implementation and Support staff to identify areas where additional training could improve performance.
- Work with Development to develop training for upcoming releases.
- Author and edit online help videos.
- Exercise good judgement, discretion, and tact while working with clients.
- Build rapport with the client staff while actively moving them towards independent operation.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in adult learning and instructional design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including conveying, documenting, preparing, presenting, and educating various audiences (including management) on both technical and non-technical information.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products and virtual training software.
- Ability to work with various personalities and technical abilities with patience and diligence to create a calm and welcoming learning environment.
- Excellent time management, prioritization, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interpret the client’s needs and expectations of the software and customize, when possible, the training experience to display the software’s ability to fulfill those areas.
- Minimum of one year of instructional delivery experience, ideally including a virtual classroom.
- Experience in the Fire Prevention industry a plus.
- Availability to travel as needed (estimated at 15-25% annually).
- Valid driver’s license.
