Job Summary
We are seeking an entry-level Bridge Designer to join TYLin's Bridge Sector. In this role you will be asked to perform calculations, analysis and designs of bridges and ancillary structures within the area. Within a team atmosphere we plan to foster your knowledge and get you prepared and well-placed to learn and grow!
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Perform engineering calculations, load ratings, analysis and design of reinforced/prestressed concrete and steel bridge structures and other ancillary structures, under the supervision of Senior Bridge Engineers.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and estimates in accordance with applicable design codes.
- Ability to respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), Field Design Changes (FDCs), Contract Change Orders (CCOs), etc.
- Other assignments as needed.
Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Master's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering would be preferred but is not essential.
- Engineer-In-Training Certification preferred. Eligibility and willingness to pass PE test within 1 year required.
- 1 years structural design experience - emphasis on bridge structures preferred.
- Strong technical skills in structural analysis and design of various types of bridge structures.
- Experience in recognized parametric design/scripting software such as Rhino, Grasshopper, and/or Dynamo preferred.
- Experience in commercial analysis software such as CSI Bridge, Larsa 4D, and/or MDX, LEAP Concrete, STAAD preferred.
- Experience using CAD software such as Microstation is preferred.
- Requires excellent communication skills, both written and oral, as well as interpersonal skills.
