We are currently seeking a hands-on Payroll Leader to join our high-growth, fast-paced team. The chosen candidate’s primary focus is processing semi-monthly payroll for the company and will also require other payroll-related tasks and responsibilities, such as Time & Attendance (T&A) as well as benefits administration. This position is responsible for timely submission and processing of wages, commissions, benefits deductions, garnishments, etc. The goal is to ensure personnel receives the correct compensation in a timely manner.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and processing of multi-state payroll (ADP Workforce Now) on a semi-monthly basis
- Administer Time & Attendance (T&A) software management system (ADP); escalate and help resolve timecard errors as needed
- Work closely with HR and external benefits broker to ensure timely benefits enrollments and payroll deductions
- Collaborate with HR and field managers to ensure timely onboarding and/or offboarding of employees as it pertains to T&A as well as Payroll
- Perform monthly payroll and cash reconciliations
- Calculate pro-rata pay for exempt employees as needed for first or final paychecks
- Manage as well as ensure accuracy of special pay and deductions, including but not limited to productivity bonuses, stipends, commissions, bonuses, benefits, garnishments, 401k, etc.
- Successfully analyze, identify, and resolve timecard errors such as coding, allocations, overtime and double time.
- Create and run reports to compile data for analysis
- Understand and adhere to local, state, and federal laws as well as internal company policies
- Ad hoc projects to support the Accounting and HR departments as needed

Required Qualifications & Work Conditions
- 5 years of Payroll and Time & Attendance (T&A) experience
- Previous experience processing payroll for 250 full-time equivalents (FTEs)
- Previous experience multi-site payroll processing
- Required to commute to the Chicago, IL office, with work from home flexibility
- Ability to maintain a full-time employment schedule of approximately 40 hours per week; extended hours may be requested or required
- Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now a plus
- Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
Compensation:
Highly competitive compensation consisting of base salary and performance bonus.
