Job Description
- Analyzes programs and systems assigned to the team to discover potential logistics problems and adverse supply trends.
- Takes aggressive actions to correct problems and negative trends, explores all alternatives and selects the best approach to resolve these situations.
- Resolves conflicts between system requirements and logistics policy and procedure.
- Develops innovative approaches to ensure logistics (maintenance and supply) support.
- Provides advice and guidance regarding supply requirements and other logistics-related matters, ensuring that programs are not adversely affected by a lack of support.
- Provides guidance on all logistics and inventory management issues to other team members for assigned systems. Interprets policy in the logistics area.
- Identify/develop approaches to stockage levels in support of assigned programs/systems support, identification of candidates for IDIQ contracts, identification of opportunities for JIT inventory.
- Develops and manages supply DBOF and OMA budgets for assigned systems.
- Ensures timely acquisition of all spare and repair parts.
- Assists lower grade team members to ensure that systems are not adversely affected by any supply/or other logistics problems.
- Ensures that the latest guidance on military staffing levels is taken into account in all decisions requiring the expenditure of funds.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of functional program responsibilities assigned by the review of reports, discussion with supervisors, employees, and observation.
- Reviews work accomplishment in relation to program plans and objectives, and timely execution of high priority and/or unscheduled projects or assignments.
- Provides guidance and assistance to the Branch Chief in the planning career development of all CP-17/CP-13 team members to include both mission-related and leadership related training and self-development courses.
