Paralegal Specialist

OVERVIEW
As a Paralegal Specialist, you’ll be an integral part of the U.S. Army’s legal system. You’ll be expected to provide legal and administrative support in all areas of criminal law, family law, international law, civil and administrative law, contract law, and fiscal law. You’ll assist judges, Army lawyers, and unit commanders with legal matters and judicial work.
JOB DUTIES
- Ability to monitor and review actions for accuracy
- Supervision duties for those in command
- Ability to provide technical guidance to subordinates
- Maintain law/administrative library
TRAINING
Administrative law matters that paralegals can be involved with include:
- Line of duty determinations
- AR 15-6 investigations
- Separation board proceedings
- Power of attorney
- Wills
- Separation decrees
They will participate in pre-trial investigations and proceedings.
Paralegal Specialist will attend 10 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Jackson, SC.

Requirements
Those who want to serve must first take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, a series of tests that helps you better understand your strengths and identify which Army jobs are best for you.

Compensation
Total compensation includes housing, medical, dental, clothing, food, special pay, and vacation time
