POSITION OVERVIEW:
The U.S. Chamber’s growing Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness (CCMC) seeks a director of policy to develop and implement policy priorities relating to U.S. capital markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with CCMC senior leadership to coordinate research and studies and remain current on policy developments and emerging issues within the capital markets sphere.
Engage with Capitol Hill and relevant regulatory agency staff.
Prepare speeches and background materials and conduct briefings.
Draft and edit presentations and other advocacy materials.
Manage member relations by providing updates to companies in the portfolios and research prospects and follow up with new members.
Supervise consultants.
Build and manage coalitions.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years’ related work in the capital markets arena.
Knowledge of the legislative and regulatory processes, with experience on Capitol Hill or in an advocacy setting preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
An understanding of financial services regulation and the structure and impact on U.S. capital markets.
Ability to identify and provide solutions for emerging issues.
Experience building and managing coalitions.
Team player and able to work effectively with senior-level executives.
Strong sense of professionalism with sound judgment.
Proficiency in MS Office.
