The Wellness Program Coordinator is responsible for creating and implementing in house wellness programs for U.S. Xpress drivers and office/shop employees including planning, organizing, and leading a variety of wellness, health and fitness programs.
- Supports the design, strategy, and delivery U.S. Xpress wellness programs.
- Develops and launches initiatives for wellness programs, including department contests, walking contests, know your numbers campaigns, smoking cessation campaigns, etc.
- Drives an organizational culture of health and wellness and the integration of wellness program into the work life of each employee.
- Communicates goals and results of the program to company management to ensure that leadership both understands and supports all initiatives.
- Collaborates with Corporate Communications to develop and implement strategic communication including but not limited to: providing posters and brochures at each terminal, info line messages, newsletter articles and postings on the HR website.
- Develops and communicates activities with employees to promote the wellness program and solicit employee participation.
- Maintains current knowledge and expertise of health, fitness, nutrition, and wellness industry trends and regulatory developments. Conducts staff meetings and training as appropriate to integrate such knowledge and expertise.
- Reviews medical claims data and analyses to evaluate and recommend program enhancements for reducing claim costs and improving health outcomes.
- Generates metrics to measure the success of the programs including employee satisfaction and health outcomes.
- Partners with vendors partners to enhance program offerings.
- Remains aware of industry trends, products and best practices and applies them to US Xpress’ health promotion/wellness strategies as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred. Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.
- Prior experience in program initiatives or worksite wellness preferred.
- Exceptional detail orientation, organization, and prioritizing skills.
- Ability to demonstrate strong verbal, written, and presentation communications skills.
