As a Sourcing Manager, you will define and adapt a regional sourcing strategy for secondary category in alignment with business stakeholders across corresponding Alcon business units. You will perform strategic sourcing work to manage risk and optimize the value/resilience of materials/services sourcing including: Identifying projects to apply sourcing and purchasing/procurement methodology, establishing supplier relationship management processes and continuous improvement goals/programs, negotiating contracts and coordinating supplier integration plans with internal clients, monitoring market dynamics that impact materials/services availability and/or pricing, partnering with internal clients to identify sourcing needs, developing buyer/market profiles, identifying marketplace trends, and defining acceptable service levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the relationship with key stakeholders in the business to maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction and to ensure the sourcing strategy is aligned and understood.
- Analyze, identify, evaluate, negotiate, select, contract, develop, and maintain a supply base which meets the line functions’ need for timely and quality supply of goods and services for the assigned category. Support sites during budgeting process.
- Seek input from and align with other supply side functions and/or local stakeholders.
- Build full spend transparency (spend baselines, KPIs and metrics).
- Lead key supplier relationships to enable innovation, continuous improvement and cost containment through mutual accountability and trust.
- Develop, align and implement innovative cost savings and productivity initiatives for the assigned category to support Procurement and business targets.
- Lead complex negotiations and support the business with contracting (negotiation and implementation of other agreements) within assigned category in compliance with legal, ethical, and procurement standards and protecting trade secrets and IP.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school 13 yrs; Assoc. 9 yrs; M.S. 2 yrs; PhD 0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 5 Years of Relevant Experience

Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain and/or sourcing of paper/boards/cartons.
- Demonstrated experience leading cost reduction and inventory reduction activities.
