Job Description:
To coordinate an evidence-based Advanced Certification in Spine Surgery Program (ACSS) through program assessment, planning, organizing, multidisciplinary collaboration, and program evaluation for effectiveness and outcomes. To monitor Joint Commission ACSS Program requirements and ensure all program records and systems are compliant. To educate, coordinate, implement, and present community outreach and Spine programs and annual educational opportunities for program nurses and other care providers. To plan, evaluate and grant continuing education credits for educational offerings, to develop standards for spine patient care in conjunction with the spine team, and to promote continuity of care throughout the continuum.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing and five (5) years of neurosurgical or orthopedic nursing experience or experience as a spine clinical care coordinator required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed or licensed by endorsement as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) required. Currently certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required or must be obtained within one (1) year from date of hire.
