The Phlebotomist supports all sections of the Clinical Outpatient Laboratory through proper phlebotomy techniques as well as proper specimen accessioning, processing and related activities.

- Use of correct blood collection tubes, ordering correct test from requisitions.
- Match identifiers to information on requisition and labels.
- Obtain blood from patient using proper phlebotomy techniques for clinical or medical testing, transfusions, donation, or research.
- Resolve specimen and patient problems as they arise.
- Follows all UAMS Department of Pathology Policies and Procedures for blood collection.
- Obtains patient specimens at an acceptable rate.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED and 1 year of phlebotomist experience.
