- provide legal advice and guidance on the design and operation of various compensation programs and employee benefits plans
- manage and support regional and global projects relating to human resources
- partner with various functions within Human Resources, tax, compliance and a range of business clients
- learn employment law and provide employment legal advice and support on a range of issues across the Americas
- handle questions around immigration practices
- think strategically and assist with proactive management of legal risk

Your team
You'll be working in the Employment Legal - Americas team and be located in Nashville. We're responsible for all employment legal issues across all Americas locations and we support all of the UBS Business Divisions. So, you can be working on something for the Investment Bank in New York in the morning and for Wealth Management in Puerto Rico in the afternoon. You'll work within a regional team of lawyers (located in Nashville, New York, Stamford and Weehawken) and be part of a global team (located in Zurich, London and Hong Kong). Your expertise
You have:
You are:
- ideally at least 3 years' experience practicing in government, private practice or in-house and some exposure to employment law
- a law degree and are admitted to practice law in the U.S. (or ability to obtain admission in your )
- some litigation experience and in particular exposure to FINRA or other arbitration forums
- experience working with senior stakeholders on sensitive matters
- excellent technical skills, sound critical thinking, problem-solving and negotiating skills, with the ability to apply those skills to a wide range of HR, regulatory, tax and other issues
- self-motivation and capability of delivering solution-oriented, firm but fair, pragmatic and risk-based advice
You are:
- confident and authoritative with strong communication, advisory and negotiation skills
- an expert at building networks and connections
- commercial and business focused, with solid judgment
- organized, hit deadlines and are comfortable managing a litigation caseload in a dynamic legal environment
