What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Phlebotomist position at UC Davis Health?
- Possess current California State issued Certified Phlebotomy Technician I license.
- Must be able to perform and maintain competency in all areas of the pre-analytical lab to include: outpatient phlebotomy, inpatient phlebotomy, data entry, inpatient and emergency department pneumatic tube stations, processing, batching, receiving and line operation.
- Possess knowledge of laboratory pre-analytical processes, policies and procedures.
- Possess effective written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of hospital and Laboratory Information System (LIS), EMR, hospital Incident Report System (RL Solutions), email, Internet, Microsoft Office and data management software.
- Ability to work productively in a busy and complex environment, meet deadlines and to remain flexible within a variety of changing demands.
- Ability to manage several projects or tasks simultaneously and to exercise appropriate judgment when setting priorities.
- Possess knowledge of and applies the principles of Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Continuous Quality Improvement.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, follow and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Bachelor’s of Science Degree.
