Position Summary:

SRA will be working in a lab focused on examining molecular mechanism of metabolic regulation as well as metabolic disease processes. Under supervision of Principal Investigator general responsibilities will include: mouse husbandry including managing breeding pairs, weaning, and phenotyping/genotyping, dynamic physiologic testing in mice, simple surgical techniques in mice, tissue and cell harvest and processing from laboratory samples; flow cytometry; molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, molecular cloning including CRISPR/Cas9 based gene editing, and Western blotting; ELISA assays, immunohistochemistry and histologic image analysis and general support including ordering and receiving supplies and organizing laboratory inventory. High School diploma is required and laboratory experience in cellular and molecular biology as well as mouse handling is preferred. Excellent organizational skills, ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and meticulous record-keeping are required for this position. We are looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated individual who is capable and willing to make maximum use of excellent facilities and a productive environment

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $27.87 - $30.79 (Hourly Rate). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $27.87 - $44.85 (Hourly Rate).

Required:

  • General working knowledge of molecular biology techniques
  • Ability to keep well-organized lab space and legible records Handling lab supplies & equipment, inventory
  • General computer literacy & data entry/analysis experience
Preferred:
  • Previous work with mice/mouse husbandry Experience with Western, IHC and ELISA Tissue processing, simple mouse surgery, histologic Image analysis on microscope


Special Conditions Required:
  • Work Schedule: 8-5, M-F, with occasional need for work extending to evening hours or weekend.
