Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Accounting and Print Monograph Acquisitions Unit Supervisor, orders and receives monographs in all formats, performs complex bibliographic searching, posts payment of invoices, processes approval shipments, prepares returns to vendors, communicates with vendors, maintains receiving files, and keeps accurate statistics.

Required:
Minimum of 3-4 years of related experience working in an academic or public library or relevant education and training.
Excellent knowledge of invoice structure. Demonstrated ability to maintain a good attendance record. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and to interact diplomatically with staff and the public. Ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively to promote teamwork, diversity, equality, and inclusiveness within UCI Libraries and the campus. Minimum of 3-4 years of related experience working in an academic or public library or relevant education and training. Effective oral and written communication skills. Excellent knowledge of the bibliographic characteristics of monographs and serials in all formats. Demonstrated experience working in a library. Demonstrated ability to perform detailed tasks independently with a high degree of accuracy with minimal direct supervision. Skill and professional judgement to adapt to ambiguity and changing work priorities in a fast-paced. Environment. Excellent keyboarding and proofreading skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and organize data independently with minimal direct supervision. Previous experience working in an integrated library system such as Alma. Demonstrated knowledge of microcomputer applications. Ability to work at a computer workstation for extended periods of time. Working knowledge of OCLC.
Preferred:
Working knowledge of Ex Libris Alma Acquisitions module. Experience working in an academic library acquisitions department. Working knowledge of University of California policies and procedures. Working knowledge of accounting procedures and current tax structure.
