DESCRIPTION
The Anesthesia Tech II provides support to the surgical patient and operating room team by performing activities related to and directly involving anesthesia care. They support the anesthesia care team directly by assisting with airway management, physiologic monitoring, and the placement of invasive lines. The Anesthesia Tech II also operates cell salvage equipment and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP) based on population specific needs. The support for the anesthesia care team is indirectly provided by the AT II through the routine maintenance and safety checks of equipment, the cleaning and disinfecting of said equipment after use, and by providing quality assurance through the documentation of these procedures. In addition the Anesthesia Tech II assists and trains Anesthesia Tech I's.
The appointments for this job posting will be for one (1) 100% FTE and one (1) 50% FTE.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience as an anesthesia technician.
- Proven competency in all areas of expertise required to be an anesthesia technician by the ASATT.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of a Anesthesia program from an accredited institution.
- Certified Anesthesia Technician issued by ASATT (Cer. A.T.).
- Two (2 ) or more years of experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work various times and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Job offer is contingent on successful engagement in the UC COVID-19 Vaccination program (fully vaccinated with documented proof or approved exception/deferral).
If applicable, life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.
