DESCRIPTIONUC San Diego Health, a world class Academic Medical Center, is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, visionary leader to oversee our Computed Tomography (CT) Department throughout the UC San Diego Health organization. This person will have the opportunity to work with an outstanding Department of Radiology, School of Medicine faculty who are thought leaders in their fellowship trained areas of sub-specialties. At UC San Diego our CT services provide the most advanced and scientific CT image exams and image quality on the most advanced equipment. This includes but is not limited to Cardiology, Oncology, Neurosciences and MSK exams and/or intraoperative procedures in our new Jacob Medical Center operating suites. This also includes overseeing the CT services for the regions only comprehensive level one trauma center and TJC Accredited Certified Comprehensive Acute Stroke program. The position is responsible for managerial responsibilities for the operational needs of the CT Radiology service line for the Health System. Duties include: developing and managing technical QA programs, provides training for staff, managing protocols and policies, recruit and interview new staff, provide new employee orientation, staff performance evaluations, order supplies, act as liaison for CT customers, effectively communicate to resolve problems, enforce policies and standards of practice, coach and discipline as required. Working with department and hospital leadership to meet regulatory standards and successful accreditations.
Must be able to demonstrate and apply a basic knowledge of the principles of radiation safety and follow state and federal regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Eleven (11) years of related experience, education/training; OR a Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration or related area plus seven( 7) or more years of relevant experience/training.
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
- Experience and proven clinical practice knowledge with applied background in a radiology modality.
- Knowledge of terms, concepts, and protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in an acute care setting to improve operations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A Master’s Degree.
- Registered Technologist for Computed Tomography issued by ARRT (R.T(CT)(ARRT)).
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $116,000 - $224,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $55.56 - $107.38
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
