DESCRIPTION

The CARE (Clinic Assessment Rapid Evaluation) Clinic RN will provide same-day oncology care to patients across all disease sites and modalities, ensuring expert triage and assessment (in person and telephone) of urgent symptoms or issues. This position will require expert written and verbal communication skills with patients, families, faculty, and all health team members across multiple departments, ensuring efficient and excellent patient care in alignment with appropriate clinical algorithms and pathways.
Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
RN license issued by the State of California.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Must have a minimum of two (2) year of active RN experience.
Must have a minimum of one (1) year of recent (within the last 6 months) outpatient/inpatient experience in oncology.
Multi-disciplinary care coordination experience.
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with all levels of staff, physicals, patients, and their families.
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with team members across multiple departments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- BSN or MSN.
- Oncology Certification (OCN).
- Two (2 ) or more years of outpatient oncology experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII or CNIV level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $123,902 - $173,659 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $59.34 - $83.17
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
