What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Sales Manager position at UCare?
As the Group Sales Manager, you will be responsible to manage the development, implementation and direction of the sales operations of Group Medicare product(s). This includes both sales and marketing for new products and development and execution of marketing and sales strategies to achieve organizational goals for existing lines of business.
- Manage sales efforts and contracts related to Group Medicare brokerage relationships.
- Manage and maintain key client relationships to ensure targeted new business development and retention of existing clients.
- Manage contacts, calendar, correspondence, notes and other daily activities as they related to performance objectives.
- Manage continuous improvement of sales performance including financial, market success, administration and delivery network.
- Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate a team of licensed Sales staff dedicated to Group Medicare sales and service. Conduct regular department meetings and provide monthly production and activity report to the Vice President of Sales and in department meetings.
- Collaborate with other Sales Managers, Customer Services, Provider Relations and Contracting, Government Relations, Health Care Economics, Product Management and Development and other teams to develop product sales strategies, retention activities, etc.
- Work with other departments to develop and submit proposals to employer groups on a timely basis.
- Serve as a resources and consultant to other departments on assigned products.
- Collaborative with other departments and teams to ensure maximum success of UCare product lines and sales efforts.
- Provide strategic management support on assigned product lines.
- Manage database development and maintenance of group product sales efforts.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel throughout the state of Minnesota.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or health-related field; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Minnesota Accident and Health Insurance license required.
Required Experience
At least five years experience selling a Medicare product to small, medium and large size groups. Leadership experience. Ability to work a flexible work schedule (occasional evening and weekend hours).
