Summary:
Manages the daily operations of the assigned nursing unit(s) or function(s) to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.

"Populations Typically Served: Underserved population of long length of stay patients, behavioral health, unhoused, undocumented
Acuity Level: low/mid medical acuity, mid/high behavioral acuity
Number of Beds: 16 beds (including 6 double beds)
Types of Procedures or Diagnosis Typically Seen: We see a varied array of diagnoses. Patients typically transfer to our unit once their acute medical issues are resolved and are more medically stable awaiting placement. Patients may be awaiting placement due to behavioral dysregulation, financial issues, insurance issues, and more. A great place to combine both medicine and behavioral health, in an acute care inpatient setting, with the opportunity to develop and foster rapport with patients.

Specialty Education Provided to Nurses: All staff will receive advanced CPI training as well as education regarding de-escalation and behavior management. "
Work Schedule: Full Time Days
Responsibilities:
Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
Assesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Minimum Required Education: Graduate from a baccalaureate school of nursing.
Preferred: Master’s degree in nursing or related field.
Required licensure/certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. Relevant certification as determined at position level.
Minimum Experience: 3 years of progressive leadership experience. - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)

The pay range for this position is: $47.57 - $76.11 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
