What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Access Registrar - Greeley Hospital - PRN position at UCHealth?
Registers patients to receive medical services, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Obtains demographic information, validate insurance, and collect payments. Answers and/or refers questions received from patients, visitors, and staff.
Work Schedule: PRN Rotating
Responsibilities:
Greets and registers patients, collecting complete patient demographics. Pre-registers patients for scheduled services. May perform bedside registration. Determines correct account type for registration according to service.
Performs verification of insurance for payors including Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare, Blue Cross Fed and others. Collects co-pays or co-insurances per financial policy. Communicates payment options when significant patient liabilities are identified. Refers patients to Financial Assistant Representative when need is identified for financial screening.
Utilizes Medicare medical necessity module for appropriate diagnosis codes and procedures. Completes Medicare Secondary Payor Questionnaire for all Medicare eligible patients on each visit except for standing orders and recurring accounts.
Offers Patient Rights and Responsibilities information to each patient. Explains and requests patients to sign consent and release forms as required. Ensures excellent customer service by walking patients to their destination. May occasionally transport patients by wheelchair.
Within
scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the
ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a
fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
- High School graduate or GED.
