Job Posting for Contact Tracer at UCLA
The Contact Tracer limited appointment is open to external and internal candidates. The duration of the limited appointment will be a minimum of 3 months.

The Contact Tracer is responsible for reaching out to contacts of UCLA students, faculty and staff diagnosed with COVID-19 and providing them with information and guidance to stop the ongoing transmission / spread of COVID-19. The Contact Tracer will use a web-based platform and telephone to communicate with assigned contacts, obtain symptom information, refer contacts for testing, provide instructions for quarantine and self isolation and complete case investigations. Prior contact tracing experience is preferred, but is not required and training will be provided.

Required/Preferred
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Social Work or a health-related field or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Preferred
Comply with UCLA training regarding confidential information related to personal information.
Required
Understanding of, and ability to explain COVID-19 and principles of exposure, infection, infectious period, potentially infectious interactions, symptoms of disease, pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic infection, types of tests used to diagnose infection, and available prevention and control interventions (e.g., isolation/quarantine, social distancing, environmental surface cleaning).

Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse individuals during a time of crisis and distress.

Maintain a professional, positive attitude and work ethic.
Required
Ability to maintain contact tracing/public health data.
Required
Apply sound critical thinking and judgement skills.

Must possess proficiency with computers and software programs.

Must possess the ability to type and enter information into a computer-based platform.

Must have excellent organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and able to communicate with culturally diverse community members clearly and with sensitivity to the challenging circumstances they may be experiencing.
