Behavior Intervention Specialist
Full Time (Various Locations in Suffolk County)
Develop, maintain goal plans related specifically towards addressing behaviors of individuals served under to supervision of a licensed Psychologist.
Responsible for evaluation and testing individuals served and training of staff members
Evaluate each individuals served based on the results of the appropriate tests
Administer the appropriate tests on an annual basis to determine consumer's needs. A full assessment will be completed and reviewed as part of the annual plan of care
Triennial testing will be done on all individuals served according to guidelines of New York State triennial intelligence testing to establish I.Q. score
Participate in the development of written, detailed, specific, and individualized program plans that are designed to maximize each resident's development and acquisition of skills in such areas as self-direction, emotional stability, and effective use of time
The individualized plan of care must be specific as to measurable goals and objectives
Each program must be evaluated in behavioral measurable terms a minimal of monthly and quarterly
Goal plans must meet state and federal guidelines/regulations
Participate in weekly/monthly meetings at each residence
Provide hands-on-training to direct support professionals
Conduct on-site and agency in-service training to staff at the discretion of the residence manager
Review all treatment plans
Maintain contact with all psychological therapeutic personnel involved with program participants, i.e., day treatment, etc
Maintain contact with and provide behavioral information/feedback to the psychiatric services provider when applicable.
Education: M.A. degree in Applied Psychology, from an accredited training program (including internship) e.g., school, clinical, counseling, and educational
