What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employer Brand Specialist position at Udemy?
Udemy is looking for an Employer Brand Specialist (Contractor) who will manage Udemy’s employer brand social presence (LinkedIn, Glassdoor, BuiltIn, Stack Overflow, and Indeed) and employer awards initiatives. You will also partner with the social team to create new channels to expand our employer branding reach (think: Instagram, Blind, Facebook, etc.), and partner with the Sr. Marketing Manager, Employer Brand, to increase Udemy’s overall impact as an employer.
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, jumps on the latest employer brand trends, and can create and engage in innovative ways. You must be a mission-driven, passionate and creative employer brand storyteller who knows their way around metrics that drive the engagement journey. You are both a strategist and a flawless executor who is comfortable working cross-functionally to drive initiatives forward. As a core member of Udemy’s employer brand team, you will report directly to our Sr. Marketing Manager, Employer Brand, and work closely with the corporate communications and creative teams.
Responsibilities
Length of Assignment: July - December (could be extended or converted to employee), 20/hrs per week
- Manage channel strategy, content creation, and company pages for Glassdoor, BuiltIn, Stack Overflow, and Indeed - elevating our presence
- Manage a content calendar in partnership with Udemy’s social media team for 2-3 posts a week that are authentic and engaging on life at Udemy, our exciting challenges, etc.
- Keeping a close eye on community sentiment, trending content, and create a strategy for ways Udemy can engage with and share employee posts
- Write creative copy and adjust voice/tone for various channels
- Partner with the creative team to design engaging social visuals that represent the brand
- Measuring and reporting on KPIs such as engagement rates and follower growth across all employer brand channels; identifying opportunities for growth and improvement
- Create and suggest content sharing to internal partners and ambassadors - including our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), Recruiting team, and hiring managers
- Develop and communicate a strategic and thoughtful approach to enhancing positive reviews on platforms such as Glassdoor, Blind, and others
- Assist Sr. Marketing Manager, Employer Brand in projects such as employer award applications (i.e. Inc, SF Business Times, Glassdoor, Forbes, etc)
- Identify and raise opportunities in our employer brand evolution, such as identifying gaps in our asset library, job descriptions, and coordinating solutions
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in social media marketing; 1 years in recruiting/employer branding preferred
- Excellent writing and editing (photo/video/text) skills with a passion for crafting stories through words, pictures, and video. Keen visual sense, an eye for detail, and mastery of both technical and aesthetic best practices for images and video. AP Style Guide preferred
- Knowledge of graphic design, specifically with Canva preferred
- An understanding of social media best practices and experience using data to make decisions and create narratives for critical initiatives
- Enthusiastic self-starter who can drive projects and collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders from the People, Comms, and Recruiting teams with minimal guidance
- Experience building positive relationships with key partners and the confidence to use your expertise to drive the process forward despite any obstacles
- Driven by curiosity, creativity, and agility and have a high motivation to learn and grow
- Two (2) writing samples of short employer brand-related social media posts
- Desire to help democratize education on a global scale :)
