Director Rehab Outpatient

Overview

Responsible for the overall direction of the Outpatient Rehabilitation Services. The Director will be ultimately responsible for the development, maintenance and monitoring of the budgets for all designated work units. The Director will implement and evaluate services, direct performance improvement initiatives for quality, foster and maintain positive relationships with providers, ensure regulatory compliance, manage staffing efficiency and perform project work as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor�s degree. Specific course work: Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapy. Preferred Education: Doctorate Degree in PT/OT or Speech Required Licensure/Certifications: Florida license in Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapy within 30 days of hire. Preferred Licensure/Certifications: N/A Required Experience: 3-5 years progressively responsible managerial experience; prior employment in facility with multiple services Preferred Experience: Experience in acute care setting, skilled nursing unit, wound care and outpatients. Strong clinical skills with Trauma, Ortho and Neuro patients Necessary Skills: 1. Good understanding of legal and regulatory issues of patient care 2. Knowledge of PT/OT/ST theory, procedures, practices and equipment 3. Thorough knowledge of possible hazards/necessary precautions/remedial measures in the treatment and care of patients in PT/OT/ST 4. Ability to manage departmental operations and supervise staff 5. Excellent communications skills required, both verbal and written 6. Basic knowledge of hospital and external billing 7. Ability to organize and motivate others 8. Must function independently and demonstrate maturity and discretion 9. Sound decision making/critical thinking skills 10. Budgeting (operational and capital) Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups Supervisory Responsibility: Number of Employees Supervised: 30-60 Budgetary Responsibility: Responsible for annual budget of $2,000,000
