General Summary
The CNC Tube Laser Machine Operator is responsible for the execution and running of a CNC tube laser operations. Responsibility for the setups, working with CNC programs and machine software along with the general running of the tube laser operations. Works under general supervision; relies on experience and general instructions to perform the functions of the job.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate CNC tube laser cutting machine used in the production process.
- Stage material, load material and unload finished material from machine.
- Program machine per order requirements and nesting software to minimize scrap.
- Checks processed aluminum tube shapes to ensure operation is producing to required job specifications.
- Trouble-shoot as necessary to optimize machine productivity and minimize downtime.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Provide a high level of detail and attention to focus on the given task.
- Ensure production schedules are followed and process paperwork as necessary.
- Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures.
- Monitor machine inputs and perform preventive maintenance tasks per manufacturers machine recommendations.
- Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
- Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
Knowledge
- Minimum high school diploma.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of running CNC laser machines, tube laser experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of mathematical functions.
- Must be able to understand and interpret the various Machine Code for CNC machines.
- Working knowledge of computer equipment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
