Specialty and Surgery Coder, 33 Lewis Rd United Health Services is seeking a Specialty and Surgery Coder to join our Coding And Reimbursement department at 33 Lewis Rd in Binghamton, NY. This position is benefits eligible. Shift Day Hours per week: 40 Salary range: $21.80 - $32.60 per hour, depending on experience. Overview Apply the appropriate diagnosis and/or procedure codes to individual patient health information for data retrieval, analysis, and claim processing for Facility outpatient accounts, facility-based procedural coding and physician practice specialty/surgical coding. Code assignment should be done in accordance to coding and reimbursement guidelines with minimal errors. Qualifications Education/Experience Minimum Required: RHIT certification with an Associate’s Degree in HIT; or CPC, CCA, CCS-P, or CCS certification with an Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma or equivalent; or a High School Diploma and one year of coding experience. If applicant does not possess above noted credentials, must obtain their credentials within 6 months of start date. Preferred: RHIA certification with a Bachelor’s Degree in HIT. Two years of experience with outpatient coding or professional coding. Two years of experience with encoding systems. Two years of experience with operative report coding.
