If you are seeking a non bedside opportunity to grow in your profession, our busy Intake Department's Admissions RN may fit the bill. In this role, you will be reponsible for the of conducting of initial nursing assessments, obtaining physician orders, and functioning as an assessment coordinator, by taking calls, assessing medical stability for those who present in the Access Center, and assisting with medical transfers to other hospital emergency rooms. You will be utilizing psychiatric clinical skills as a first line direct patient care provider, and will be an integral member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. You will use your understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient’s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care. You will also conduct assessments on patients who seek evaluation for psychiatric and substance abuse treatment and provide appropriate referrals to programs either within the facility or outside the facility based on results of the assessment. The Admissions RN provides a smooth entry into the facility for our clients.

Qualifications
Education: Current New Jersey RN licensure BSN/BS preferred. Graduate of NLN accredited program preferred, ANA Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Certification preferred. CPR certification required.
Experience: One year of psychiatric nursing or psychiatric experience preferred.
Additional Requirements: A working knowledge of the DSM-IV and the Mental Status Exam. A working knowledge of the Addiction and Recovery field.
