Intake Counselor
Prairie St. John's, a 132-bed psychiatric care facility located in Fargo, North Dakota, has been providing services for children, adolescents, and adults to address behavioral health and substance use challenges since 1997. Prairie offers inpatient hospitalization, day treatment, residential treatment, and intensive outpatient services. Accredited by The Joint Commission, we are the largest, freestanding behavioral health facility in the region. More than 4000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Prairie St. John's.
The Intake Counselor serves as the first point of contact for people suffering from a mental health emergency. The Intake Cousnelor interviews and assesses patients and shares the information with the psychiatrist to determine appropriate level of care. The incumbent coordinates the patient’s admission into the appropriate program and communicates with the patient, family, and staff to ensure the patient is safe and treated with dignity and respect.
This position will be scheduled to work 1 pm to 9 pm every other Saturday and Sunday and one weeknight from 3pm to 11:30 pm.

Qualifications
Successful candidates for the Intake Counselorposition will have the following education, skills and abilities:
· RN Licensure or Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling
· Organized, detail oriented
· Able to communicate thoroughly in writing and in person
